Beconnected Support Services

Beconnected Support Services is a multi-service organization serving the Greater Victoria community, dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse and complex needs to live with dignity, stability, and connection.

We are currently seeking a Community Outreach Worker to provide consistent, person-centered support to individuals with multiple complex needs (MCN). This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, motivated, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of people navigating complex life circumstances.

About the Role

As a Community Outreach Worker, you will build strong, trusting relationships and deliver community-based supports that promote stability and independence. You will work with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, particularly those who may be at risk or marginalized.

This is hands-on, impactful work that requires adaptability, sound judgment, and a non-judgmental approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent outreach and support to individuals in the community
  • Build respectful, trust-based relationships
  • Support individuals in navigating systems such as:
  • Housing and shelter services
  • Healthcare, including mental health and substance use supports
  • The criminal justice system
  • Food security and employment resources
  • Social and recreational opportunities
  • Advocate for individuals while encouraging autonomy and long-term stability
  • Document and monitor progress using person-centered planning tools

What You Bring

Qualifications:

  • A Post-secondary education in a humanities or social services field, and/or
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting marginalized individuals with diverse abilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Ability to document, track, and evaluate individual progress
  • Familiarity with positive behaviour support and harm-reduction approaches
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
