The Position:

We are seeking a compassionate, community-focused Community Outreach Guard with strong security experience and advanced de-escalation abilities. This role supports vulnerable populations, promotes safety and wellbeing and builds trusted relationships within the community. The ideal candidate is skilled at navigating high-stress situations with empathy, professionalism and sound judgement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement community outreach programs to enhance public awareness of security services.
  • Conduct community outreach within assigned areas, engaging respectfully with individuals experiencing homelessness, addictions, mental health challenges, or social vulnerabilities
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts, reduce harm and ensure safety for all parties involved .
  • Provide support, information, and referrals to community resources, shelters, and support services
  • Monitor public spaces to promote a safe environment while maintaining a non-enforcement, relationship building approach
  • Act as a liaison between community members, local organizations and security or emergency services when needed
  • Support crisis situations calmy and effectively, following established protocols
  • Maintain cultural awareness and demonstrate respect when working with diverse populations
  • Assist EMS or other officials during emergency situations.
  • Perform other related duties and special project functions as assigned.
  • Ensure the overall safety and protection of people, property, and equipment at processing plants.
  • Qualifications
  • Proven experience in security, community outreach, social services or crisis response
  • Strong de-escalation skills and proven ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid Security Guard License (considered an asset)
  • Class 5 drivers license (optional depending on program needs)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
