Full job description

Build your career in live broadcasting

Are you organised, curious and interested in what happens behind the scenes of a live broadcast? Do you take initiative, follow through on commitments and enjoy working with a team?

TraderTV Live is looking for an Associate Producer to help coordinate our Toronto studio’s daily broadcasts. We cover financial markets, business news and live trading for an international online audience. As we expand with a second studio in Kuala Lumpur, we are strengthening the team behind our programming.

We are hiring for potential—not a long résumé. You should bring basic production skills, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. We will provide hands-on training and the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as you develop.

About the role

You will work directly with Executive Director, who leads TraderTV and brings experience in broadcasting, trading and on-air hosting. Initially, your focus will be on broadcast preparation, production coordination and keeping the team organised.

As your skills and judgement develop, you will progressively take greater ownership of Toronto’s day-to-day production operations. You will have guidance and support; previous studio-management experience is not required.

This is a behind-the-scenes production role, not an on-air hosting or trading position.

What you will do

  • Help prepare each broadcast. Maintain running orders, schedules and production checklists so the team knows what is happening and what needs to be ready.
  • Keep people coordinated. Work with hosts, guests and technical staff to communicate assignments, timings and last-minute changes.
  • Support programme preparation. Help research topics, verify information, prepare briefing notes and coordinate graphics, video materials and guest arrangements.
  • Help broadcasts run smoothly. Monitor production, flag problems early, help resolve routine issues and recognise when a decision needs to be escalated.
  • Follow through and improve. Track outstanding tasks, contribute to post-show reviews, suggest practical improvements and support communication with our Kuala Lumpur team.

What we are looking for

  • Organisation and reliability. You can manage several tasks, meet deadlines and make sure details do not get forgotten.
  • Basic production familiarity. You have some practical exposure to broadcasting, livestreaming, video, podcasts or live events. This can come from employment, education, volunteering or independent projects.
  • Clear communication and sound judgement. You are comfortable coordinating with others, asking questions, accepting feedback and staying calm when plans change.
  • Curiosity and the ability to learn. You are interested in financial markets, business news or digital media, comfortable with everyday digital tools, and willing to learn new production systems and responsible uses of AI.

You do not need previous trading experience, a particular degree or a fixed number of years in the industry. You do need to demonstrate that you take responsibility, learn from mistakes and apply feedback.

Attitude, aptitude, willingness to learn and judgement matter more to us than impressive job titles.

What you will gain

You will receive hands-on training in a working live-broadcast studio, direct mentoring and practical experience across editorial preparation, production coordination and digital programming.

This is an opportunity to make a visible contribution to the programme and build towards broader producer and studio-leadership responsibilities over time. Your responsibilities will grow with your demonstrated ability.

How to apply

Apply through Indeed with your résumé and a short note explaining why this role interests you and an example of a time you organised a project, solved a problem under pressure or learned a new skill quickly.

Links to relevant productions, livestreams, videos or other projects are welcome but not required. Please explain your contribution to any work you submit.

This posting is for one current vacancy.

TraderTV Live welcomes qualified applicants from all backgrounds. Accommodations are available on request throughout the recruitment process.

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
