Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Flooring Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project bids, analyzing client needs, and providing comprehensive cost estimates for commercial flooring projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating, project management, and negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution. The estimator will collaborate closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver precise proposals that align with project specifications and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial flooring projects using industry-standard tools such as Measure Square, CAD.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and material requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project needs and provide expert guidance on flooring solutions.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best value while maintaining quality standards.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, and other related costs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Assist in project management tasks by tracking costs, change orders, and ensuring estimates align with actual project execution.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new products, and pricing strategies relevant to construction estimating and flooring solutions.
  • Post-Award & Project Management
  • Provide seamless project handovers to the operations team with detailed take-offs, seam layouts, and material orders.
  • Estimate and manage change orders for design updates or unforeseen on-site subfloor conditions.
  • Track actual project expenses against estimated costs to monitor and evaluate bid profitability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably within commercial flooring or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Measure Square, CAD, and other estimating or project management software.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications accurately.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of project management principles to coordinate multiple bids and projects efficiently.
  • Construction background with familiarity in flooring materials and installation processes is highly desirable. Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
