About Us

Ideal Integration Inc. is an established, award-winning Edmonton integration firm known for high-end automation, security, and AV work. We are expanding into commercial and industrial security — AI-powered video surveillance, enterprise access control, and building automation — and we're building the team that will lead that growth.

This is a ground-floor opportunity: you'll help shape a growing commercial/industrial division, including the launch of our electrical services offering.

Job Overview

We're looking for a Master Electrician to work alongside our lead technician on commercial and industrial installations. You'll bring the electrical expertise; we'll invest in training you on the technology side — or better yet, you already have hands-on experience with security and automation systems.

You will install, wire, commission, and support:

  • Commercial video surveillance systems, including AI video analytics platforms (Scylla AI – gun detection, perimeter intrusion, object detection, false alarm filtering)
  • Access control and electronic locking systems (Kantec locking systems)
  • HVAC automation and building controls — a key growth area for us
  • Commercial and industrial electrical work supporting our installations and standalone electrical projects
  • Control4 automation systems (smaller portion of the role)

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Master Electrician certification (Alberta Safety Codes Council) or Journeyman Electrician actively pursuing Master certification.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean abstract.
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check (required for security industry work).
  • Comfortable working on commercial and industrial job sites, including lifts, ladders, and mechanical rooms.
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn new systems.

Strong Assets (or willingness to be trained):

  • Experience with CCTV/IP camera systems, NVRs, and VMS platforms.
  • Experience with access control, electronic locks, door hardware, and low-voltage systems.
  • Experience with building automation / HVAC controls (BACnet, Modbus, thermostat and RTU controls).
  • Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, PoE, switches, VLANs).
  • Alarm installer licensing or eligibility.

Why This Role Is Different

  • Top-of-market pay — up to $60/hour for the right candidate
  • Paid manufacturer training and certifications (Scylla AI, Cantec, Control4, and more)
  • Variety — no two projects alike: industrial sites, commercial buildings, and advanced technology
  • Career path — help us launch and lead our electrical division as we grow
  • Company vehicle/tools support, and a small, professional team that does the job right

This role requires a dedicated professional committed to safety standards and technological excellence in commercial security solutions.

Pay: $45.00-$60.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Extended health care
  • Paid time off
  • Vision care

Work Location: In person
