Full job description
We are hellbent on doing great work and living a great life while we’re at it.
Reliable jobs with good pay, building real skills and still having gas in the tank to get after it when the workday is done. That’s Kicking Horse Coffee. Whether that’s lakes, trails, powder days, or just soaking up Columbia Valley life with your family, we want you finishing your shift with energy left for the good stuff!
YOU’LL LIKE IT HERE IF …
You want a stable job that fuels your big-mountain, small-town lifestyle.
You’re reliable, hands-on and take pride in doing things right.
You want to work somewhere people, not just output, matter.
You want to grow. At Kicking Horse Coffee, the more you learn, the more you earn.
You’ve got your crew’s back. You show up daily with respect and care for others.
You care about making an impact. Every single coffee bean is Fairtrade and organic, positively impacting farmers around the world.
You take safety seriously. Looking out for each other is just how it’s done.
Bottom line: work hard, live well, be a good kick in the ass for the world.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Keep the coffee moving – in, out, and exactly where it needs to be. You’ll be hands-on in a fast-moving warehouse environment, picking, packing, loading, and receiving with speed and accuracy. Priorities shift, trucks run late, things change. You roll with it, keep things organized, and make sure every shipment is done right and on time.
- Pick, pack, label and ship orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Receive deliveries, inspect goods, and match shipments to paperwork.
- Move products and materials throughout the facility (forklift included).
- Stage and prep materials to support daily operations and production.
- Track inventory and enter shipment data in systems.
- Work closely with your team to stay aligned to shipping schedules and priorities.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized and running smoothly.
- Jump in where needed adapting to delays, changes, and shifting needs.
- Support inventory counts, product put-away, and internal order builds (Café, DTC).
- Follow safety and quality program practices.
- Contribute ideas and collaborate with the team to keep improving how we work.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Physical ability to lift up to 25-75 lbs (with help from the team), lifting, pushing, twisting and bending in a warehousing environment, up to 8 hours per shift.
- Basic computer skills and data entry experience is required. Experience using Microsoft Excel is an asset. Open to learning and developing new skills is a must!
- Possess a good understanding of workplace safety and willingness to learn and follow policies, procedures, and standard work instructions.
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting is considered an asset.
- Forklift operator certificate is required (training provided if you don’t have one already); experience operating heavy equipment an asset.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
THE DETAILS
- This is an on-site position located in Invermere, BC.
- This is a full-time, permanent position in our Warehouse team, working an average of 40 hours per week with a paid half hour lunch on 8-hour shifts. We will also consider candidates looking for part-time work – don’t let this stop you from applying!
- The hourly rate for this role is $24.34. Additional wage premiums are available based on skills, shifts, and added responsibilities (e.g., training, shift lead, multi-area work).
- Shifts can start as early as 5 AM and run as late as 8 PM, Sunday to Saturday.
THE GOOD STUFF
When individuals thrive, communities thrive. And we are here to help that happen with our benefits and programs:
- Extended medical, dental and vision coverage, with $2,000 flexible paramedical services coverage, EFAP, and a $700 annual Wellness Allowance.
- 4 weeks of paid vacation after one year of work, plus get a paid day off to celebrate your birthday.
- Our Growth Grant gives employees access to non-repayable funding to pursue career-building learning that supports growth at the Horse or beyond.
- We provide uniforms and an allowance to cover costs for work boots and custom ear protection.
- Our Green Commuting program pays employees up to $3.00 per day for choosing a green commute to work.
- Our Dream Fund provides financial funding to put towards community projects.
- Our Apprenticeship Program provides a paid pathway to trade certification.
- Damn good discounts on coffee beans and at our on-site Café.
WHY THIS PLACE IS DIFFERENT
As Canada’s #1 selling whole bean coffee, demand for our organic, Fairtrade beans keeps climbing from coast to coast. That means one thing: we need more awesome humans on our team. We’re gearing up to grow big while staying true to what got us here.
We’ve been making kick-ass coffee for 30 years. We roast every bean in the Rocky Mountains, smack dab in the middle of nowhere. It’s where we’ve built something pretty special.
We don’t cut corners. We don’t do average. And we definitely don’t do half-assed. From how we source our beans to how we treat our people, we’re all in.
WHAT WE VALUE
- Do What’s Right. It’s not always neat and tidy. It means taking care of people, the planet and the business. No posturing, no greenwashing, just grown-up conversations and real accountability.
- Never Half-Ass It. We’re on a mission to annihilate mediocrity. It’s about craftsmanship, care, and commitment. It’s about creating something we’re proud of, every time.
- Cut the Bullshit. It’s about systems that work without waste, kindness without drama and root-cause thinking over quick fixes. When we cut through noise, we make space for what matters: trust, clarity, and meaningful progress.
- Be Remarkable. Every now and then, we crank the dial past ten. We’re not here to play it safe or follow the crowd. We’re here to break patterns, defy expectations, and drop a few jaws along the way. If it’s forgettable, it’s not for us.
- Do It All With Love. Love? Buck yeah, Love! It’s our not-so-secret ingredient. We care deeply about the work we do, the people we work with, and the impact we have. That love shows up in every cup.
