Full job description

CHE Academy is a Hockey Academy, competing at the U18 level in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). As we prepare for the 2026-27 season, we are seeking passionate, dedicated, and professional individuals to join our staff and help develop the next generation of student-athletes.

All positions are based in Peterborough, Ontario, with the season beginning in September 2026.

Assistant Coach

The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to support all aspects of team operations and player development.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with practice planning and on-ice instruction
  • Support game preparation and bench management
  • Contribute to player evaluation and development plans
  • Assist with video review and hockey operations
  • Serve as a positive mentor and role model for student-athletes
  • Travel with the team to league games, showcases, and tournaments

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience at the competitive hockey level preferred
  • Strong understanding of player development principles
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
  • Relevant coaching certifications considered an asset

Athletic Therapist

The Athletic Therapist will be responsible for supporting athlete health, injury prevention, treatment, and return-to-play protocols throughout the season.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide game bench staff coverage
  • Assess, treat, and manage athletic injuries
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals when required
  • Maintain medical records and treatment documentation
  • Travel with the team throughout the season

Qualifications:
Applicants must hold one of the following certifications or professional designations:

  • Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT)
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
  • Sports Physiotherapist or Physiotherapist with Sport First Responder certification
  • NATA Board of Certification (BoC) Certified Athletic Trainer
  • Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • First Responder (FR)
  • Medical Doctor (MD)

Equipment Manager

The Equipment Manager will oversee all team equipment operations and ensure players and staff are prepared for practices, games, and travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage team equipment inventory, including laundry services for jerseys, socks, off-ice gear, etc.
  • Assist with sharpening of skates
  • Prepare dressing rooms and benches for practices and games
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Ensure team standards for organization and professionalism are maintained

Qualifications:

  • Hockey equipment management experience is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, professional, and dependable
  • F-Class Driver’s License or ability to obtain is an asset but not required
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
