Gas Bar Manager
About Red River Co-op:

We have deep roots in our community. 85 years deep. And through the years we have proven our commitment to our members by making their priorities our priorities. We donate regularly to a wide range of organizations, feature local products prominently, and most importantly – give back to our members through profit sharing. We look to the past to inform our present core values.

But in this rapidly changing world, our roots ground us so that we can keep pace and innovate. We have grown from one standalone Gas Bar in downtown Winnipeg to an ever-expanding co-operative with over 50 gas bar locations, 24 car washes, 6 carlocks, 9 food stores, 8 pharmacies and an oil supply centre. Our fleet of trucks are on the road delivering fuel to farm and commercial accounts in Manitoba and northwestern Ontario.

And we just keep growing as we develop fresh, modern ways to deliver premium products with extraordinary customer service.

This role can be just the start of your career as there is ample opportunity for advancement within Red River Co-op. We are a proud member of the Co-operative Retailing System, a vast network of 160 retail Co-ops across western Canada.

Position:

Red River Co-op invites applications for the position of Gas Bar Manager to lead the team at our Gas Bar located at 275 Main Street, in Selkirk, Manitoba.

We are seeking a hands-on individual who is committed to service and has the required leadership skills to lead their front-line staff.

Reporting to the Gas Bar Operations Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

· Ensure a healthy and safe work environment for our staff and members.

· Be a brand ambassador for the Co-op.

· Apply industry leading standards in category management and merchandising.

· Lead your team to provide world-class customer service.

· Communicate with our Environmental Supervisor to ensure compliance with all legal and environmental requirements.

· Achieve financial results and budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses and profits.

· Ensure standards of the Gas Bar are met, including customer service, cleanliness, inventory control, rotation, and ordering.

· Provide leadership and direction to employees in accordance with company policies, procedures, programs, and overall expectations.

A full responsibility list will be provided to candidates selected for interviews.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

· Prior experience in managing a high-paced retail business, preferrable in a gas bar and/or car wash environment.

· Above average communication / interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).

· A full commitment to building effective teams.

· An aptitude for marketing, leadership, bookkeeping, maintaining image standards, human resources, and strong merchandising techniques.

· A firm, yet friendly and sociable personality.

· A natural affinity for welcoming our members to the site, while embracing an inclusive environment for our employees.

· A solid understanding of computer applications, especially Microsoft Office.

· An ability to work well with others.

Total Rewards:

Red River Co-op offers a competitive Total Rewards and benefits package including matched pension contributions. Advancement opportunities abound in the Co-operative Retailing System, and we encourage ongoing professional development along with up to 100% reimbursement for post-secondary course work. Additional details will be shared with candidates as part of the interview process.
