This is a 3-month paid internship. Interns who complete the program successfully may be offered a permanent, full-time technician position with ongoing training and development.
A medical or engineering background is not required, but is an asset. We are looking for people whose work demands outstanding fine motor control and precision. - Test repaired components against CCE quality standards.
- Follow documented repair procedures accurately and consistently.
- Keep adequate records of all activities, materials used, and work completed.
- Log all notable information throughout your job functions and complete required pre- and post- repair documentation.
- Support in-house operations as needed, including receiving and preparing components for repair.
- Learn and apply the quality and regulatory requirements that apply to medical device repair.
- Compliance with all CCE safety and operating procedures.
Skills Needed
- Exceptional fine motor control and hand-eye coordination.
- Comfort performing focused, detailed work under a microscope or magnifier for extended periods.
- Patience, precision, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures exactly.
- Strong ability and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Effective communication skills for internal collaboration.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in work requiring very fine motor skills (professional, trade, or serious hobby/portfolio work).
- Soldering or micro-soldering experience is a strong asset.
- Post-secondary training in jewellery, electronics, dental technology, biomedical engineering, or a related field is an asset.
- The candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and provide proof of eligibility.
- The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
- Must always adhere to Federal and Provincial regulations and safety protocols relating to the medical devices industry.
- Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
