Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Assistant to support our medical research team in conducting a long-term clinical study comparing two surgical approaches to thyroidectomy. This role involves assisting with data collection, managing research documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in research methodologies, data management, and medical terminology, with a passion for advancing healthcare through clinical research. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the medical research field within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruiting and screening study participants according to protocol guidelines
  • Collect, record, and manage clinical data accurately and securely across multiple hospitals
  • Ensure proper documentation of all research activities and maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • Monitor participant safety and report adverse events in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Support the preparation of study materials and assist during patient visits or procedures
  • Collaborate with research team members to ensure adherence to study protocols and timelines
  • Maintain compliance with institutional review board (IRB) regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards

Experience:

  • Prior experience in research or clinical settings is preferred, particularly in healthcare or medical research environments
  • Knowledge of data management systems and electronic health records (EHR) is advantageous
  • Comfort with the operating room environment is required
  • Ability to commute to Burnaby Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital is required
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical trial protocols is beneficial
  • Strong analysis skills to interpret data accurately and identify trends or discrepancies
  • Previous exposure to data collection methods, regulatory compliance, and patient interaction will enhance effectiveness in this role.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
