Job Title: Child & Adolescent Therapist/ Play Therapist
Location: Lunenburg, Nova Scotia In-Person

Compassionate Connections is a growing, multidisciplinary private practice located in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to children, youth, and families. Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child & Adolescent Therapist to join our team. This role involves working with children and youth (ages 6–18) presenting with a range of mental health needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting young people and families, and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be in good standing with one of the following regulatory bodies:
  • Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP)
  • Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT)
  • Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW)
  • Social workers must hold a Clinical Specialist designation
  • (Social Work Candidates are ineligible to work in private practice)
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents (ages 6–18)
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention skills
  • Experience working with a range of mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, mood disorders, behavioural challenges, trauma, ADHD)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and culturally responsive practiceKey Responsibilities
  • Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in team collaboration and case consultation
