Instructor – Addictions & Community Health Professional

Sundance College operates leading Western Canadian private colleges with multiple locations delivering diploma programs in both on-campus and online modalities in the business, health, hospitality, legal and technology fields.

The Opportunity

Sundance College is currently seeking to fill the permanent role of an Instructor – Addictions & Community Health Professional. This role is an on-campus position at our campus in Calgary, Alberta.

These roles will appeal to individuals with a passion for education, are driven to attain positive learner outcomes, receive satisfaction in delivering an excellent program, and a desire grow in professional competent best-in-class education department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach students the established curriculum in a manner that best supports student learning and success;
  • Engage and support students by bringing the educational material to life(!)… by developing creative lesson plans, learning strategies, topic based videos and fun learning activities;
  • Develop and maintain effective, professional, and courteous communication with students;
  • Work collegially in a team setting with other staff;
  • Maintain relevant industry skills & knowledge and
  • General administrative duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree (preferred) or diploma in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years related work experience
  • A minimum 1 year of instructional experience or hold a training certificate in adult education.
  • Experience in Addictions Treatment facility (preferred)
  • Preference for those with basic teaching or training experience
  • Good analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Positive, supportive, engaging communication style
  • Reliable, punctual and organized
  • Above average teamwork & communication
  • Computer literate i.e. Microsoft Office.
  • Desire to engage and contribute to a fun, fast-paced, supportive environment.
