No previous medical experience is required for this position. A Medical Office Assistant diploma would be an asset, but is not required. Dominion Medical Centres is hiring a full time Patient Care Coordinator for our South West Edmonton location.

The Individual

We are looking for an extraordinary individual who has experience working in a medical, retail, call centre or office environment. As the face of the company, the individual will become part of a team that is essential in providing outstanding patient-centered care. The candidate should possess superior customer service skills as well as excellent communication and listening skills. The ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment is crucial.

The Position

Located at our reception desk, the Patient Care Coordinator is the key connection between patients and physicians. The position requires the management of a high volume of phone calls, scheduling appointments, patient/clinic communication and a variety of other administrative office tasks. The Patient Care Coordinator ensures the efficient, professional operation of the clinic.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Greeting patients as the enter the clinic
  • Answering incoming phone calls
  • Processing incoming documents and accurately indexing them to patient files
  • Utilization of our Electronic Medical Record software
  • Performing a variety of general administrative tasks

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • 2+ years working in a medical, retail, administrative or office environment
