Full job description

The Grove Optometry is growing and is looking to hire another optometric assistant to join our team in Spruce Grove, AB!

The Grove Optometry is a local, independently owned optometry clinic. We strive to provide a positive work environment for all employees and a welcoming environment to all of our patients.

The ideal candidate would share the same patient-centered care values as the rest of the team, be hard working and ready to learn!

Although previous experience is not essential, preference will be given to those candidates with previous experience in the optometric field.

Primary Responsibilities:

Welcome patients into the clinic in a friendly manner

Answer phones, schedule appointments, submit insurance/billing

Provide direction and information as required to in-office patients and collect required health information prior to eye exam

Perform pre-screening and preliminary testing prior to the appointment with the optometrist

Update electronic records, filing and other clerical tasks

Monitor that all required health and safety protocol is adhered to

Help patients/customers selects frames and lenses on occasion

Other duties as required

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous medical/ophthalmic office experience is an asset, but not required

Excellent customer service skills

Reliable

Computer proficiency

Job-Type: Permanent Full-time, Optional Part-Time

Salary: Starting at $16.00 per hour

Full-time hours: 30-40 hours per week, generally Monday-Friday with one evening shift per week and the occasional Saturday shift will be required
