About McCue Engineering Contractors

McCue Engineering Contractors is a Delta-based manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems, delivering fully engineered plants for industrial operations across Canada. With a focus on mining sites, remote camps, and smaller communities, the team designs and fabricates systems that treat industrial wastewater, sewage, and drinking water in challenging environments. Unlike traditional consultancies, McCue brings design and manufacturing together under one roof, with process and mechanical engineers working closely alongside skilled trades to turn concepts into fully operational systems. Their projects demand practical thinking, strong collaboration, and a hands-on mindset, supported by a flexible hybrid work environment and a tight-knit, high-performing team. For engineers looking to take ownership of meaningful projects and see their designs built and deployed in the field, McCue offers a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, fabrication, and real-world application.

About the Opportunity

McCue Engineering Contractors is looking for a full-time Senior Water/Wastewater Process Engineer based in Delta, BC. This is a hybrid role, allowing you to work primarily from home while remaining available to attend our Delta office as needed.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering and working closely with the Process Design Team, you will play a key role in leading process design activities across multiple projects, supporting proposal development, detailed engineering, and system commissioning.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for delivering end-to-end process design solutions for water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and alignment with project requirements.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading process design for water and wastewater treatment projects across all stages
  • Developing process calculations, modelling, and engineering documentation
  • Reviewing tender documents, contributing to proposals, and supporting budget development
  • Conducting data analysis, technology assessments, and establishing design basis

About You

To qualify, you will need a degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, along with 5+ years of experience designing industrial wastewater, municipal wastewater, sewage, or drinking water treatment systems.

We are specifically seeking engineers with direct water and wastewater treatment process engineering experience. Experience gained primarily in other process industries, including oil & gas, will generally not meet the requirements of this role.

The following are required:

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia, or eligibility to apply
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally within Canada for project work

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience designing sewage, industrial wastewater, or drinking water treatment systems
  • Strong background in process design, modelling, and engineering documentation
  • Experience supporting proposals, tender reviews, and budget development
  • Knowledge of biological treatment processes and related technologies
  • Experience with BioWin or similar process modelling software
  • Familiarity with equipment sizing, vendor coordination, and technical evaluations
  • Experience with pilot or bench-scale testing programs
  • Exposure to construction, commissioning, or operation of treatment systems

As our ideal candidate, you will possess strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse and multidisciplinary team. You are a self-starter who takes ownership of your work, communicates proactively in a hybrid environment, and brings a high level of accountability and attention to detail.

This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who wants to take ownership of meaningful water and wastewater projects, contribute to a close-knit and high-performing team, and see their work move from design through to real-world application.

About the Benefits

Compensation based on skills and experience, with a competitive annual salary of $90,000 – $120,000, and a host of excellent benefits including:

  • Comprehensive Health benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • Life Insurance, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program and mental health support tools
  • Access to Teladoc services, including telemedicine and mental health support
  • Emergency medical travel coverage
  • Relocation assistance for the right candidate
  • Flexible, employee-driven hybrid work model, allowing you to work primarily from home while attending our Delta office as needed
  • Generous banked time program, allowing you to accrue up to four additional weeks of time off
  • Regular team events including annual celebrations, summer outings, and team lunches
  • Opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative and supportive engineering team
