Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is looking for someone like you for the role of Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) I. From procurement to performing lab processes and procedures safely, efficiently, and effectively, while ensuring all lab data is correctly and accurately recorded and communicated. Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent phlebotomy experience (within 1-3 years) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting. Proficient computer skills with experience in Epic Beaker LIS. Experience performing newborn capillary collections.
