Compensation: $28.67/ hour
Location: London, ON
Site: Yaquina
Schedule: 16-32 hrs/week; varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Summary of Roles & Responsibilities:
- Working with children and youth in an out-of-home emergency/urgency stabilization setting overnight.
- Collaborate with teams to implement care plans that support participants' involvement in person-centred programs that promote educational, behavioural, developmental, psychological, and emotional growth
- Creating and providing a safe, secure, and supportive environment for participants by developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships that attend to the diverse needs of youth
- Navigating conflict, overcoming obstacles, and being creative in providing support to participants while remaining calm and focused in crisis situations by utilizing effective de-escalation and decision-making skills
- Work successfully with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice
Qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma in Developmental Support Worker (DSW) or Social Service Worker (SSW) - or an equivalent Human Services program.
- Please Note: Personal Support Worker (PSW) and Developmental Services Worker (DSW) certifications do not meet the educational requirements for this position.
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience providing behaviour intervention support; knowledge of concurrent disorders and/or dual diagnoses and strategies for support
- Reliable with a demonstrated commitment to being a dependable member of a team
- Understanding of support requirements specific to the roles and responsibilities of the job
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
- Strong leadership, mentorship, advocacy, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills, in addition to attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team, and independently as necessary
- Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional and personal boundaries
- Multilingualism and having diverse lived experiences are considered assets
Requirements:
- Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record
- Satisfactory current (within the last 6 months) Broad Record Check
- Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunisations, negative TB Skin test (within the last 6 months), COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical and psychological requirements of the position
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR, Level C with AED training preferred
