Full job description

Wee Watch is looking for an enthusiastic child care professional to join our family. This role is ideal for an RECE looking for flexible part time work hours.

This unique opportunity as a Home Visitor, plays an essential role in our Agency and entails a diversity of responsibilities. The Home Visitor acts as a liaison between the Home Childcare Provider and the Wee Watch Home Childcare Agency. Ensuring that the homes of our Providers meet and exceed all Wee Watch and Ministry of Education standards for safety, nutrition, and care. In addition, the Home Visitor supports the Provider with childcare programming ideas, resources while providing advice on child guidance and development.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Conduct Home Visits

· Leverage RECE expertise to ensure that all Providers/homes are in compliance with Wee Watch policies and procedures along with Ministry of Education regulations

· Conduct unscheduled monthly home visits to all Providers to assess compliance to standards, provide guidance and support on programming and child guidance techniques

· Maintain accurate records, complete visit reports, assist Providers in completing their regular communication reports for parents

· Plan and schedule your visits and follow-up visits according to case load and requirements related to number of Providers, new children, new Providers each month

2. Provider and Parent support

· Mentor and support Wee Watch childcare Providers to help them implement all requirements in their homes, including completing reports

· Assist new Providers with initial home set-up, programming ideas, resources and ECE concepts and implementation

· Provide support to parents through communication, consultations and reports

3. Agency support

· Plan and deliver Professional Development workshops to Providers, including annual Rules and Regulations Meeting

· Respond to and assist with any Serious Occurrences that occur in the homes

Key skills/competencies:

· Strong expertise in Early Childhood Development and Education

· Communication skills, ability to communicate professionally and confidentially

· Strong interpersonal skills/ ability to manage conflict

· Coaching/Mentoring skills

· Detail orientated, strong time management and organizational ability

Qualifications:

· Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), current member of College of Early Childhood Educators

· 2 years of childcare experience

· First Aid certification and valid VSC

· Experience or knowledge of Home Child Care Licensing requirements an asset

· Ability to travel within community (car for local travel)

· Flexibility of work hours may be required

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
