Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Description:

MARY Homes located in the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton is a privately owned residential program licensed under the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services in accordance with the Child and Family Services Act. MARY Homes has been operating in Ottawa since 1989 and has provided services to over a thousand youth.

Services have been designed to assist and support children and youth who are experiencing a wide range and variety of issues; primarily emotional and behavioral difficulties that hinder their well being and growth in their homes and community. MARY Homes provides these youth and children with short and long-term placements during which they participate in individual goal oriented programs

EXCELLENT SPOKEN AND WRITTEN ENGLISH IS REQUIRED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE YOUTH IN THE HOMES.

Part time positions available starting at $25.78 total per hour. 4% vacation paid biweekly. You must be able to take a minimum three shifts per week. You must be available for shift work including days, evenings, overnights and weekends. Hiring priority is evening, weekend and overnight shifts.

Degree and/or diploma in social service field with educational background in (i.e. Criminology, Correctional Worker, Child & Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, Police Foundations, Social Worker, Law & Security, Psychology etc.) IS A REQUIREMENT.

First Aid Certification is a mandatory requirement

We issue a $3/hour supplemental pay due to working in congregate care; this is paid out in addition to $22.78/hour on hire for a total of $25.78

Working with vulnerable youth; you must be able to meet the requirements of having a negative vulnerable sector police check and Children’s Aid Society check without protection issues as well as a medical form completed by a physician prior to starting work.

We have a mandatory requirement proof of vaccination against Covid-19 for all applicants.

Applicants must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance showing $2 million liability in order to apply. This is a requirement as you will need to drive youth to appointments.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK, DAYS EVENINGS OVERNIGHTS AND WEEKEND SHIFTS.
