Company: Nunatsiavut Government
Department: Health & Social Development
Position: Daycare Operator
Term: Full Time, Permanent
Community: Nain, NL
Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the administration, operation, supervision and delivery of the Day Care Program
  • Accountable for implementation and delivery of programs in the Day Care Centre as designed by Inuit Child Care Initiative
  • Ensure the childcare programming are meeting the needs of the children and are culturally appropriate
  • Responsible for supervision of Day Care staff including job orientation, performance appraisals, discipline and follow-up in conjunction with the Human Resource Manager
  • Responsible for work and training schedules for Day Care staff and conducting staff meetings
  • Ensure daily recording of pertinent information on children is carried out
  • Responsible for safekeeping, nutrition and health of the children
  • Knowledge and good understanding of Childcare Act and Childcare Regulations, Outdoor Play Area Standards, Standards for ECE in Child based Childcare centre, Childcare Services Subsidy Manual
  • Training as required
  • Travel as required
  • Other related duties as required
Qualifications
  • Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma or one-year Early Childhood Education Certificate with two years experience working with children.
