This posting is to backfill an existing position within the organization that is essential to our operations.

About the Role:

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Transportation & Fleet Manager to lead and enhance our multi-site fleet operations. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, this role plays a central part in ensuring seamless daily execution, developing a strong and accountable team, and driving continuous operational improvement.

We’re looking for a leader who brings initiative, strong operational judgment, and a willingness to be deeply involved in both strategy and day-to-day action. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations within transportation and fleet departments.
  • Lead, coach, and support dispatchers, drivers, and coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance schedules and contractor/vendor partnerships.
  • Prepare and deliver performance reporting and operational insights to senior leadership.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma preferred.
  • 5+ years in fleet/transportation/logistics operations with team leadership experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience: people management and talent development, including training, coaching/mentoring and team building.
  • Financial acumen in managing budgets and cost efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hands-on and get results.
  • Proactive, execution-focused, and able to work independently.
  • Skilled in coaching, delegating, and team development.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a root-cause mindset.
  • Strong systems knowledge

Key Performance Outcomes

  • Establish clear performance benchmarks for all fleet team members.
  • Deliver improvements in cost control and reduce transport inefficiencies.
  • Lead departmental meetings focused on proactive issue resolution and planning.
  • Implement a performance-driven culture with strong follow-through.
  • Identify and resolve root-cause issues impacting delivery and service.
