Full job description

Adecco is currently hiring an Associate Engineer for a full-time, 1-year temporary opportunity in Ottawa, ON. This role is ideal for an analytical engineering professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with calibration processes, and contributing to the performance of innovative diagnostic products in a highly regulated environment.
In this position, you will support the calibration and maintenance of advanced diagnostic products, investigate product performance issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product accuracy and quality throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Pay Rate: $65,000-$67,000 per year
  • Location: Ottawa, ON
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | Full-time
  • Employment Type: 1-Year Temporary Contract
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the accuracy of diagnostic products by performing regular calibration and mathematical maintenance, with a primary focus on coagulation products.
  • Provide software calibration parameters for implementation into diagnostic analyzers to ensure product accuracy for end users.
  • Support external reference laboratories involved in the development of coagulation reference lots.
  • Assist with the calibration of additional product lines, including chemistry and blood gas diagnostic systems.
  • Investigate and resolve product performance issues using structured engineering and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Independently execute engineering assignments while applying standard engineering principles, concepts, and techniques.
  • Document experimental results in accordance with quality system requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams by participating in technical meetings and sharing project updates.
  • Stay current with technical developments and recommend improvements to engineering processes and work practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to product quality and performance.
Qualifications
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply engineering concepts and statistical methods to technical challenges.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in GMP, ISO, or FDA-regulated environments is an asset.
  • Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma principles is considered an asset.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
