Full job description
AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Utility/Water Treatment Technicians (Level III or IV) for an upcoming temporary assignment in Alberta. This position will require you to work 12 hour shifts, 6 days per week when assigned to a project.
You will earn:
- $55 before overtime
- $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
- Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
- Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)
- Flight provided (when required)
Certifications:
- Hold a valid Level III or Level IV Water Treatment certificate
- Must have a valid Class 5 or G drivers license.
Duties, Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to operate machines, mobile equipment and tools used in municipal Water Treatment Facilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Manage and optimize plant performances , react to abnormalities including turbidity, mono-chloramines, chlorine etc.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints & drawings
- Strong mathematical skills related to calculations for volume, flow, velocity, chemical dosage, consumption etc.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, and handling hazardous chemicals
- Ability to provide technician guidance on assignments.
- Collaborate with other departments
- Provide assistance to rural water treatment facilities by remote system monitoring.
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Physically able to bend, lift, stand and reach
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
