Full job description

Casual Bus Driver

We are seeking a kind and patient Casual Bus Driver to join our team and support us at our Beautiful Jasper Alpine Summit Seniors Lodge. Reporting to the Lodge Administrator, this position is responsible for the safe, timely, and courteous transport of seniors and passengers to and from local and out-of-town programs and activities and is a casual (as needed) position.

A little about the Position:

  • Safely operate the EGF vehicle, assisting seniors and passengers with boarding, disembarking, and securing mobility aids (e.g., walkers, wheelchairs).
  • Follow scheduled routes, adjust for traffic/weather, maintain on-time performance.
  • Pre-trip inspections, report maintenance, safety and repairs concerns promptly.
  • Provide friendly, respectful, and compassionate service to all passengers
  • Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained including septic system.
  • Ensure the vehicle is fueled and ready for daily operations.
  • Maintain the vehicle logbook, including mileage, fuel use, and trip information.

A little about you:

  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, manage time effectively and remain calm under pressure.
  • Physically able to assist passengers and operate accessibility equipment.
  • Experience working with seniors or vulnerable populations is an asset.

The successful candidate must have a Class 4 Alberta Driver’s License, current Driver’s Abstract, and clear Vulnerable Sector Check. This is a casual position with variable hours, including some evenings, weekends and overnight stays.

Hourly rate will be as per The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955.
