The Pet Valu family of stores includes Pet Valu, Paulmac’s Pet Food, Bosley’s, Tisol, and Total Pet. Together, they make up one of the largest pet retail networks in North America, focused on providing families with food and supplies for dogs, cats, companion birds, wild birds, fish, reptiles, and small animals.

Every store is committed to supporting local pets in need. They work with local shelters, rescues, and charities to host adoption events, provide in-store adoption at select locations, and run pet food bank programs. They also participate in national fundraising and donation initiatives.

As a Sales Associate,you’ll use your skills and experience to guide Pet Parents in choosing the right nutrition and solutions for their pets. You’ll work as part of a dedicated team of Pet Experts and enjoy the daily satisfaction of helping Pet Parents. If you’re eager to learn and grow with one of North America’s leading pet retailers, this role is an excellent fit.

Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour

What You Do

  • Handle cashier duties and assist customers with sales
  • Complete merchandise orders, banking tasks, and other routine paperwork
  • Stock small items (under 10 lbs), including pet products and household goods, on the sales floor
  • Perform sweeping, dusting, and other general store upkeep
  • Help unload delivery trucks carrying cases and bags of pet food and supplies, and place items weighing up to 50 lbs into stock
  • Carry out other tasks and responsibilities as needed

What You Bring

  • Previous experience in retail or customer service
  • Understanding of point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • A friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service abilities
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Availability to work scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Reliable transportation to and from the store

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.75-$17.25 per hour
