We are looking for a Product Assurance/Quality Coordinator to join the team! This position will support a range of research and development activities as well as product development and support in aerospace and defence applications. In this position, you will work with BTI’s Director, Quality to ensure that the development and delivery of our projects and products are in full compliance with the contractual and company requirements in regards to relevant Product Assurance and Quality standards.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Work with the Director, Quality to proactively ensure BTI’s Quality Management System meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, regulatory requirements, customer requirements, and the policies of BTI
• Develop, implement, and maintain Product Assurance processes for spaceflight scientific instruments, including interpreting contractual, mission, and regulatory requirements and establishing project-specific procedures, controls, and verification activities
• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of Product Assurance and quality processes throughout all project phases
• Support product quality activities, including material and hardware quality reviews/inspections, configuration management, traceability, supplier quality, workmanship, and other controls necessary to demonstrate compliance with product and mission requirements
• Identify, assess, and manage product reliability, quality, and safety risks, including participation in design and technical reviews, FMEA, hazard and safety analyses, qualification and acceptance activities, and other risk-management processes
• Manage non-conformances and deviations from requirements, leading or supporting root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, disposition, and incorporation of lessons learned to drive continuous improvement
• Plan, conduct, and support internal and external audits, including ISO 9001, regulatory, and program-specific audits, and coordinate the timely resolution and closure of findings and corrective actions
• Monitor and analyze quality and assurance data, records, and trends to identify emerging risks and communicate findings and recommendations to project and company leadership

We are looking for candidates that meet the following profile:

• Due to security requirements, the candidate must be a Canadian or US citizen, or a permanent resident of Canada, have 5+ years of verifiable history of employment and residence, and will be required to undergo a criminal record check as a condition of employment
• Bachelor’s Degree required with a strong academic or professional record; a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field is an asset
• Experience in a manufacturing or product development environment within an ISO 9001-certified organization or equivalent; experience within the space or aerospace industry an asset
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and methodological tools (Six Sigma, Lean, ISO standards)
• In-depth knowledge of aerospace quality standards, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant industry regulations, is an asset
• Must be able to interpret requirement documents, including international standards, contracts, and regulations
• Excellent analytical skills and organizational abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with a multi-disciplinary team of scientific, engineering, manufacturing, and management personnel
• Must be creative, self‐motivated, organized, receptive to constructive feedback, and able to learn quickly on a continuous basis
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access; Experience with SAP Business One an asset
