CertainTeed Canada has an exciting career opportunity for a Labourer/Machine Operator based in Mississauga to join our team. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.


Schedule: 12 hours shift / rotating continental.

2 weeks on days followed by 2 weeks on nights.

Shifts run from 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am.

Salary: $31.39

Overtime on Saturdays

Double time on Sundays

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform various duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Long standing, walking and some minimal climbing of ladders and stairs
  • Performs quality checks as required
  • Performs equipment changeovers per schedule
  • Participates in team meetings as required
  • Clean work areas and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Perform duties as a labourer throughout the plant and operate plant machinery;
  • Operating a driving a standard and hyster forklift truck
  • Once trained and qualified, relieve various positions as assigned in the Plant
  • Work within all shift schedules as assigned
  • Interact and work effectively and professionally with employee and management staff in a team-oriented environment;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent is mandatory
  • Physical strength is required for manual material handling materials
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, waist to shoulder
  • Team-customer service oriented individual.
  • Previous forklift experience is strongly preferred but not essential
  • Experience in a related production line occupation or as a warehouse worker Forklift experience an asset
  • 2-3 years’ work experience in a manufacturing setting and/or warehouse environment required
  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse and production environment.
  • Proficient in use of the English language, including oral communication, writing and reading
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts.
  • Ability to work shift work - Unionized work environment
