Line Cook – Catering & Commissary Kitchen (Toronto, ON)

Corporate catering operation serving across the Greater Toronto Area. Our commissary kitchen supports multiple daily events and production runs with a strong focus on consistency, food safety, and execution.

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Line Cook to support catering food production and event execution. This role is based in a commissary-style kitchen and focuses on volume prep, batch cooking, and event readiness rather than restaurant service.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare catering menu items using standardized recipes, batch sheets, and event counts
- Execute prep including proteins, sauces, sides, salads, and hors d’oeuvres
- Assist with bulk cooking, cooling, portioning, and packaging for events
- Support event packing, labeling, and load-outs
- Assist with hot holding, reheating, and finishing food for service
- Maintain clean, organized workstations following Toronto Public Health standards
- Label, date, and store food following FIFO and allergen protocols
- Communicate prep status and shortages to supervisors

Qualifications
- 1–3 years kitchen experience (catering or commissary preferred)
- Valid Food Handler Certification (Toronto Public Health)
- Experience with prep and batch cooking
- Strong knife skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

Work Environment
- Commissary / catering production kitchen
- non-customer-facing with occasional off-site event support
- Emphasis on cleanliness, consistency, and timing

Selected candidates may be invited for a paid kitchen trial or event shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
