Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage electronic medical records, and ensure smooth daily operations within a busy medical office. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with medical software (Accuro, NetCare, ConnectCare), and the ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently. Prior experience in medical office settings is preferred. The Medical Office Assistant will play a vital role in delivering quality patient care and maintaining an organized, welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing a warm and welcoming environment
  • Prepare room and patient for physician appointment, including taking vital signs, height/weight, setting up for examination and procedures ie. biopsy, IUD insertion
  • Writing brief description in chart re reason for patient visit
  • Management of specimens ie. pap smear, various swabs, urinalysis, pathology specimens
  • Assisting with equipment sterilization and processing
  • Keeping the clinic neat and clean
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records using Accuro
  • Prepare patient charts and documentation for appointments
  • Assist with administrative tasks including data entry
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and confidentiality standards

Experience

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Accuro, Netcare, Connect care preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
  • Experience working with multi-line phone systems and handling front desk operations
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional communication abilities are essential
