Full job description

The Investigators Group has built our reputation on providing professional, reliable and experienced investigative and security services to our growing client group. We are dedicated to achieving this mission through our team of professional investigators, security guards and our dedicated support staff.

We are hiring a licensed private investigator to join our team of private investigators. You will conduct corporate and insurance surveillance investigations and utilize your experienced surveillance and communication skills. You will be accountable for investigations to completion, including identifying issues, gathering information and writing clear and comprehensive reports. This opportunity will appeal to investigators who are capable of working both independently and within a team, and in a flexible work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Licensed Private Investigator to conduct field work related to legal, financial, insurance and personal matters. Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing cases and files
  • Mapping our applicable investigative responsibilities
  • Performing relevant surveillance
  • Conducting interviews
  • Practicing and heeding cautionary guidance and predetermined parameters
  • Assist with fraud investigations, corporate investigations, and workplace investigations.
  • Perform other investigative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years field experience in surveillance investigation
  • Post-secondary education preferably a degree or diploma
  • Must have access to reliable, operational vehicle
  • Valid Ontario Private Investigator License
  • Possess a valid G level driver’s license with a clear driving record
  • Must have excellent written skills and experience preparing well written, detailed reports
  • Must possess excellent judgement, common sense and decision-making ability
  • Ability to meet timelines, is organized and reliable
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Capable of managing assigned tasks in an organized and efficient manner
  • A basic, general knowledge of the criminal and civil code in Canada
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, evenings, nights and holidays

This position involves a combination of field investigations, surveillance assignments, witness-related duties, remote work, and reporting. Assignment schedules may vary based on operational requirements and client needs.

This role is ideal for an investigator who is resourceful, professional, flexible, and capable of managing a diverse range of investigative assignments while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity.
