About Triton

Triton Canada Inc. is the leader for pre-employment screening and background check solutions in Canada. Since the beginning, Triton has been helping medium to enterprise organizations, small firms, and individuals in various industries streamline their hiring process to make data-driven choices that foster long-lasting relationships with their most important assets – their employees. Powered by innovative technologies, Triton provides the industry’s fastest record checks backed by best-in-class service and an intuitive platform.

We are seeking a highly capable Full Stack Application Developer (Mid–Senior Level) to join our technology team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, secure, scalable, and innovative software solutions.

This role involves hands-on development across the full application stack within a modern Angular and .NET environment. The successful candidate will design, implement, test, and maintain enterprise-grade systems that align with established architectural standards and support long-term maintainability and performance.

The position requires strong technical execution, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team. While this is not a people-management role and does not carry independent architectural authority, it does require technical maturity and meaningful contribution to technical discussions.

In addition to strong full-stack capability, this role requires engagement with modern development practices, including responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to leverage emerging technologies thoughtfully while maintaining disciplined software engineering standards.

Success in this role depends on delivering reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions while operating effectively within a collaborative, performance-driven engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-quality, secure, and scalable full stack solutions using Angular, .NET, SOAP and RESTful APIs, and SQL Server.
  • Translate complex business requirements into well-structured technical implementations aligned with established architectural standards.
  • Contribute meaningfully to technical design discussions, identifying trade-offs, risks, and performance considerations.
  • Develop maintainable, modular systems with a strong focus on long-term reliability and extensibility.
  • Improve existing systems through thoughtful refactoring and disciplined reduction of technical debt.
  • Ensure security, data integrity, and performance considerations are incorporated into all development work.
  • Uphold engineering standards through rigorous peer code reviews and disciplined development practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and QA to refine requirements, clarify scope, and ensure predictable delivery.
  • Communicate technical decisions, constraints, and implementation considerations clearly and professionally.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and release processes within Azure DevOps environments.
  • Support production deployments and participate in diagnosing and resolving production issues when required.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools responsibly and effectively to improve development efficiency while maintaining high engineering standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in full stack environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable web applications across the full stack.
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable enterprise web applications.
  • Experience working with legacy and modern front-end technologies (including jQuery and Bootstrap where applicable).
  • Solid understanding of software architecture principles, including modular design, separation of concerns, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of Git-based workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred).
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Strong understanding of web application security best practices.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Strong proficiency in:

  • C# / .NET (including .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET Core 8+)
  • Angular (Version 21+ preferred)
  • TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+)
  • SOAP / RESTful API design principles
  • SQL Server and T-SQL
  • Entity Framework

AI Proficiency & Development Practices

AI is reshaping software engineering. We expect engineers to use AI tools thoughtfully and effectively within established governance and development standards.

The successful candidate will demonstrate hands-on proficiency using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, ChatGPT/OpenAI APIs, or comparable platforms within professional engineering environments.

This includes:

  • Utilizing approved AI-assisted tools to improve coding efficiency, testing coverage, and documentation quality.
  • Critically evaluating, refactoring, and validating AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Exercising strong engineering judgment and avoiding over-reliance on AI-generated outputs.
  • Adhering to security, data privacy, and intellectual property standards when using AI tools.
  • Staying informed on evolving AI capabilities impacting software development and contributing constructively to team discussions regarding responsible adoption.
  • Sharing knowledge and articulating measurable improvements achieved through AI-assisted workflows.

What We Offer

  • A hybrid work environment with flexibility, balanced with purposeful in-person collaboration.
  • A team culture that values initiative, strong communication, and practical decision-making.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Starting salary range at $100,000-$125,000 CAD

Additional Information

At Triton, all applications submitted are reviewed in detail by our HR team. In certain aspects of the hiring process artificial intelligence (AI) tools may be used, specifically for screening and assessments. These tools support our team and are used to help bring relevant criteria to the foreground and do not replace human judgment. We are committed to using AI responsibly, fairly, and in compliance with applicable employment and anti-discrimination laws. We regularly review these tools to help prevent bias or discrimination.

This role requires access to sensitive systems and data. Successful candidates must complete and pass applicable background and security screening checks as a condition of employment and system access.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and lived experiences. If you require an accommodation during the recruitment process, please let us know.
