Position Overview

GeoFocus Group Inc. is seeking an organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of cast-in-place concrete construction projects within our growing multi-residential construction portfolio.

The successful candidate will assist Project Managers, Estimators, and Site Supervisors throughout all phases of construction, including pre-development, tendering, scheduling, contract administration, construction coordination, reporting, and project close-out.

This role is ideal for a construction professional with experience in cast-in-place concrete projects who is looking to continue developing their project management career in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Administration

  • Assist the Project Manager in executing all aspects of project delivery
  • Support construction management responsibilities under:
  • CCDC 17 contracts with trade contractors
  • CCDC 5A contracts with owners
  • Assist with project close-out and turnover procedures
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, drawing logs, and document storage using Procore and/or Autodesk platforms
  • Coordinate communication between consultants, trade contractors, site staff, and internal teams

Scheduling & Budget Support

  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of project schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Support Project Managers and Estimators in preparing project anchor budgets
  • Assist with monthly reporting and invoicing reviews alongside Site Supervisors and Project Managers
  • Support preparation of site instructions, and change orders/directives

Tendering & Contract Administration

  • Assist with preparation of:
  • Tender packages
  • Trade scopes of work
  • Bid analysis
  • Trade award recommendations
  • Support preparation and coordination of:
  • Letters of Intent (LOIs)
  • CCDC-17 contracts
  • Contract documentation and tracking

Technical & Site Coordination

  • Assist with reviewing, coordinating and distribution:
  • RFIs
  • Shop drawings
  • Submittals
  • Consultant reviews
  • Support constructability reviews alongside the Project Manager and Site Supervisor
  • Ensure daily logs, site photos, and project reporting are uploaded and maintained in Procore
  • Attend project sites weekly and as required to support construction operations

Quality & Safety Support

  • Assist the Project Manager and Site Supervisor in monitoring construction quality and compliance with project specifications
  • Support coordination of inspections, field reviews, and deficiency tracking
  • Assist in promoting compliance with workplace safety standards and OHSA requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working on cast-in-place concrete construction projects
  • Completion of at least one full-cycle construction project considered an asset
  • Familiarity with:
  • CCDC contracts
  • Procore and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Microsoft Project
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong document control and coordination capabilities
  • Experience in multi-residential construction considered an asset

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $95,000 – $120,000 CAD (commensurate with experience)
