J-Mart is an upcoming Japanese deli & market concept bringing the best of Japan's culinary delights to the heart of Toronto. Position Overview:
As a Cashier at J-Mart, you will be the friendly face that greets our customers, processes transactions efficiently, maintains the store in an aesthetic manner, and ensures that each visitor leaves with a smile. You'll have the opportunity to showcase your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and passion for delivering top-notch service in a welcoming retail environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers with a warm and welcoming demeanor
  • Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
  • Process payments using our point-of-sale system
  • Handle cash and card transactions with precision and honesty
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized store area
  • Provide assistance to customers with inquiries or special requests
  • Stock shelves, arrange merchandise in an aesthetic manner
  • Prepare small food items like Onigiri, handrolls etc

Qualifications:

  • Previous cashier or retail experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to speak Japanese, Korean, Mandarin/Cantonese is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively and on-task under minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
