Full job description

● Experience with residential and/or commercial construction projects is an asset

● Some experience with painting, have a desire to learn more about painting, have a desire to paint both interior and exterior of residential buildings.

We are establishing a painting division within our company. We have a significant volume of painting work scheduled. You will work with and be supervised by an experienced painter. With the odd gap in scheduling, you will be working on other aspects of residential construction.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, hard-working individual who has pride in their work and has a desire to advance and learn new skills. Painting schedule gaps may include assisting with framing, foundations, window and door installs, demolition, assisting siding install, working on scaffold, etc.

Must be able to make yourself available for face to face interview in Courtenay, BC.

Responsibilities:

● Load and unload construction and painting materials

● Perform manual labor, including shovelling, sweeping, and raking

● Assist with foundation slab prep and rebar slab prep

● Lift up to 50 lbs

● Perform site cleanup and dump runs

● Assist with other construction-related tasks as needed

● Measure cut and install materials.

● Follow instructions.

● Ability to work unsupervised and stay productive.

● Basic labor skills including knowledge of various tools and equipment

● Strong time-management and multitasking abilities

● Possess a valid driver's license

● Safety training is an asset

● Occupational First Aid – level 1 is an asset, but not required

● Excellent communication skills

● Positive attitude
