We are currently seeking an individual for the position of Shipper/Receiver within our Surrey, BC location. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Is responsible for shipping all in-town and out-of-town orders as directed or instructed by the Sales Department. High levels of activity and abnormal customer demands may be encountered within this service level.
• Schedules Branch Stock Transfers to ensure a regular delivery of inventory to each branch. Coordinates customer orders with stock loads, when instructed or practical.
• Hires carriers and monitors their performance, ensuring that drivers handle customers with friendliness, tact and diplomacy.
• Communicates on a regular basis with Plant Supervisors whenever service policies are not being maintained.
• Communicates on a regular basis with the sales staff, advising of problem orders, missed or late deliveries, customer requests or problems, etc.
• Expedites all orders that require follow up, stock checks, special delivery, deadlines, etc.
• Communicates on a regular basis with other Office staff, ensuring all office procedures are coordinated.
• Acts as a liaison between sales, purchasing, CTLL, warehouse and branch staff to foster improved communications and relations between departments.
• Authorizes and/or approves carrier invoices
• Verifies and matches all packing slips, driver bills, etc., to our purchase orders.
• Sees that all phases of their work are properly and efficiently performed by other staff members during periods of holidays, sickness, etc.
• Files all relevant documents.
• Sees that telephones and e-mails are answered courteously and promptly and that messages are forwarded to those involved without delay.
• Self development, through extra curricular courses and on the job training, to prepare for future growth in the company.
• Performs any other related duties that may be assigned.
• Receives all material into the computer system.
• Processes all Over, Short & Damaged reports by writing up, entering into logbook and forwarding to Purchasing for final transaction. (Pictures must be taken of all damaged material.)
• On a daily basis, checks mill invoices against PO costs to ensure accurate pricing. Obtains Purchasing approval on any price differences.

• Matches receiving reports and invoices for daily entry by Accounts Payable Assistant
• Processes shipping arrival notices as required

Education and Skills Required:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Self-motivated, results oriented
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong administrative skills

Salary: $55,000+
