Full job description

Pave Co Ltd. is seeking a skilled and dependable Machine Operator to join our growing construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment used in excavation, grading, site preparation, and asphalt paving operations.

This position requires a motivated individual with strong equipment operating experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to job site safety and quality workmanship. For the right. Only qualified machine operators with proven previous experience will be considered, as training will not be provided. A company vehicle may be available to the successful candidate following successful completion of the trial period, based on suitability and role requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators and skid steers, safely and efficiently
  • Perform excavation, grading, and site preparation according to project specifications
  • Read and interpret landscaping and grading plans accurately
  • Assist with asphalt paving and related construction activities
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
  • Identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly
  • Follow all company safety procedures and site regulations
  • Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience operating excavators and skid steers is required
  • Strong understanding of grading, excavation, and site preparation
  • Ability to read and interpret landscaping drawings and grading plans
  • Experience in asphalt paving, construction, or concrete forming is considered an asset
  • Mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability are highly desirable
  • Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and heavy equipment operation
  • Physically capable of working in demanding outdoor environments
  • Valid G Class driver’s licence required
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour
