About Habitat Life Sciences
Founded in 2017 and located in the heart of British Columbia and Shuswap area in Turtle Valley, near Chase BC, Habitat Life Sciences (Habitat) began with a sustainability focused, and multidisciplinary group of inspired people in the agricultural community. Habitat now farms beautiful coho salmon and the finest craft cannabis in a symbiotic living system known as aquaponics. It sounds awesome, and it is. After feeding the fish, the aquaponics system digests the nutrients produced by the fish in order to produce food for the plants. The system is extremely water efficient as it filters and recirculates ~99.9% of the water needed by the fish and the remaining 0.1% is re-used to water the plants. This is, or should be, the future of farming.
