Coordinator, Corporate Communications (12 Month Contract)

Working in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of Four Seasons global headquarters, the Coordinator, Corporate Communications will join a diverse team that drives the communications strategy for one of the world’s leading luxury brands.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, they will support efforts to drive awareness and preference of the brand, focusing on media relations, executive messaging, and corporate storytelling. The Coordinator, Corporate Communications will play a key role in crafting compelling narratives, developing communications materials, and managing corporate messaging across external channels.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and creative writer with an interest in strategic communications, innovative media relations and new media platforms. They will have strong analytical and project management skills, keen attention to detail, and exceptional judgment. The ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and collaborate across teams is essential. Experience in luxury hospitality or premium brands will be an asset.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Corporate Communications

  • Support media relations strategies and draft messaging to support key company platforms.
  • Conduct research into emerging markets, current events, and trends and innovations within the hospitality and luxury industries to inform corporate messaging.
  • Develop briefing books to prepare and support executives with top tier media interviews.
  • Support the development of press releases, and messaging documents to support company objectives, campaigns and initiatives.
  • Support external communications efforts to meet strategic business priorities, drafting communication plans, tactics, and messages to support them.
  • Align external communications positioning across key external channels, working with Manager, Corporate Communications and with regional PR teams to ensure messaging is shared and integrated across all channels.
  • Proactively identify industry trends where Four Seasons should have a point of view and work with Corporate Communications team to draft messaging accordingly.
  • Maintain external messaging and positioning documents and message banks.
  • Work with primary Corporate Communications agency and with media to enhance awareness of key company initiatives and positioning.
  • Write corporate press releases and supporting message documents.
  • Develop external corporate messaging to respond to reactive media requests as well as select core messaging to support key areas of focus for the company.

Executive Interviews

  • Research and develop comprehensive briefing notes for senior executives.
  • Work across a network of global agency partners and media to coordinate interview logistics.
  • Proctor select media interviews in partnership with Manager, Corporate Communications and relevant PR agency.
  • Support the development and refinement of external speeches, presentations, videos and other communications materials that align with objectives, and advance thought leadership with key external audiences, on behalf of senior executives and subject matter experts.

Project Announcements/New Openings

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Development, Residential, Design and Construction) and ownership groups on new project announcements including:
    • Developing corporate press releases to support new property announcements
    • Maintain and disseminate list of publicly announced projects and key project details.
  • Prepare media responses to new project/project pipeline requests.
  • Oversee list of publicly announced projects and manage periodic updates as required.

LinkedIn

  • Develop engaging content for LinkedIn channels to advance visibility, awareness and preference for Four Seasons as an employer of choice and as the world’s leading luxury hospitality company.
  • Support the external content on the Brand LinkedIn channel by working collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as P&C, Social Media Marketing, ESG, Operations and more.
  • Advance and enhance brand LinkedIn content related to Corporate Communications initiatives, such as Awards, New Project Announcements, and more, working collaboratively with the brand Social Media team.

Awards and Accolades

  • Lead the development of press releases and internal announcements as required for select awards and accolades.
  • Manage global awards tracker, briefing senior leaders as required.
  • Lead the development of biannual summary and analysis of key brand awards and accolades.
  • Support Global Awards Strategy and guidance for Four Seasons properties relating to Awards tactics.

Residential Marketing and Public Relations

  • Support key public relations and social media tactics in support of growing awareness and preference for Four Seasons Residential business, including external spokesperson opportunities for residential leaders, organizing press experiences including property visits and media tours, developing and issuing press releases, and strategically pitching media stories.
  • Work with Manager, Corporate Communications to execute residential media events in key markets to achieve goals of building relationships and preference with media.

Owner Engagement

  • In collaboration with the Office of the CEO, Portfolio Management and other cross-functional teams, support with Owner Engagements including the bi-annual CEO letter and Owner Conferences as needed.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate communications role preferably in an agency or corporate environment.
  • Relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related discipline.
  • University or college degree; graduate degree preferred.
  • Completion of a Public Relations, Marketing Communications or related degree/certificate program preferred.
  • Range of communications expertise across various disciplines such as public relations, corporate communications, marketing communications and social media.
  • Luxury hospitality and/or luxury goods or services experience and understanding of luxury markets and consumers an asset.
  • Previous experience in marketing, communications and/or public relations.
  • Professional gravitas and ability to work closely with and counsel senior executives.
  • A keen creative eye with the ability to evaluate communications (visual and written content), ensuring alignment to brand identity.

Key Skills/Who You Are:

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams across a matrixed organization.
  • Positive attitude, high degree of flexibility, initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity.
  • Technical skills, including superior Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive and LinkedIn skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with LinkedIn as a social and employee engagement platform, including but not limited to posting content, creative brainstorming, post optimization, and admin support as required.
  • Growing awareness and interest in new media, target publications, and luxury hospitality trends.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and copyediting skills.
  • Experience with media relations and corporate communications programming.
  • Superb judgment and appreciation for reputational risks.
  • Ability to work under extremely tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

Annual Base Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000 CAD + additional rewards as part of the total compensation package.

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario #LI-Hybrid
