Calabogie Peaks is a four-season country resort located on the shores of Calabogie Lake at the base of Dickson Mountain, 50 minutes from Ottawa.

This boutique Hotel is part of the Ascend Collection by Choice, including 25 recently renovated rooms, all of them with specific characteristics, also one to three bedroom condo suites all at the base of the tallest ski resort in Ottawa Valley.

Calabogie Peaks Hotel is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and experienced Outdoor & Mountain Concierge (Mountain Pass Ticket Sales, Rentals, Beachfront)

Reporting to the Outdoor Supervisor/Adventure Center Supervisor, or designated

Job Type: Part-time, Full-time, Seasonal

Salary/Wage: $19.00 to $20.00

Job Overview

The Outdoor & Mountain Concierge is responsible for selling tickets, answering guests inquiries, having full knowledge of aquatic and ski rental equipment/products, as well as resort-wide hours. As an Outdoor & Mountain Concierge you will be a year-round point of contact for outdoor amenities such as the Beach Front, Fall Colors, & Adventure Center.

Key Responsibilities

· Greet and welcome all guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a positive first impression of our resort

· As one of the initial ‘voices’ of Calabogie Peaks, the Outdoor & Mountain Concierge answers inbound phone calls and responds to customer inquiries

· Sell ski and snowboard tickets, ski lessons, ski rental packages, seasons passes, snow school programs, retail merchandise, higher education packages, terrain park passes and other winter mountain recreation products and services at Calabogie Peaks Resort

· Sell beach access, aquatic rentals, seasons memberships, golf memberships, golf equipment, boat slips, food and beverage, chairlift tickets, merchandise and other summer recreational products and services at Calabogie Peaks Resort

· Maintain knowledge of daily conditions, events, and mountain operations

· Provide customers with detailed information regarding all aspects of the resort's activities season-wide

· Knowledgeably market and promote all resort products, programs, packages, and amenities

· Handle cash, credit card and debit card payments

· Complete cash balancing activities

Qualifications & Skills

· Education: High School Diploma required; Post-secondary education is an asset.

· Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in customer service or hospitality

· Skills:

o Enthusiastic, friendly and professional in person and over the telephone

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills

o Advanced computer skills – comfortable working with multiple systems

o Ability to multitask and coordinate with multiple departments in an efficient manner

o Experience working cash in a retail environment

o Detail-oriented and able to remain calm under pressure

o Experience working with large volumes of guests

o Articulate with a good command of the english language

o Must be available to work weekends and holidays

o Previous hospitality or customer service experience is an asset

o Smart Serve Certificate is considered an asset

Working Conditions

· This position requires the ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

· Must be able to lift upwards of 50+ pounds

· This role will require sitting and standing for long periods of time

· This is a fast-paced environment requiring excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once.

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Calabogie, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Customer Service: 2 years (preferred)
