We’re looking for a Mine Technician who takes pride in accuracy, understands how the mine really works, and wants to be part of keeping operations safe, stable, and moving forward.

Job Summary:

Located at Tanco Mine Site in Bernic Lake MB.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mine Technician to join our team. As a Mine Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our underground mining operations. Your responsibilities will include conducting surveys, measurements, and assessments of development headings and stopes, as well as overseeing various aspects of the mining process. Additionally, you will contribute to the safeguarding of company assets within the Mining Department's jurisdiction.

You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with miners, supervisors, and engineers, providing the technical backbone that supports safe and efficient underground mining. If you’re detail-oriented, comfortable underground, and want your work to matter every day, we want to hear from you.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys to maintain line and grade in development headings and stopes.
  • Ensure pillar integrity by marking lines in mine stopes.
  • Measure and calculate ore quantities in stopes.
  • Use scanner technology to locate and contour stopes, keeping maps updated.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly reports on development headings and ore tonnage mined.
  • Assist with various surveying tasks and rock mechanics monitoring.
  • Maintain equipment, conduct environmental monitoring, and assist with mine planning.
  • Perform blasting duties as required.

Computer Competency:

  • Microsoft Office, Sage, Klougin, Autocad, Promine. All new software related to the new survey equipment including scanner and GPS tools.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in mining, geology, surveying, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in surveying and/or underground mining with a strong knowledge of drilling and blasting techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Class 5 Drivers License
