Opportunity: Heavy Equipment Operator (Dozer/Grader/Excavator)

Schedule: 14/7 working up to 12 hours per day.

Job Location: Fort McMurray- Suncor

Accommodations: Camp Available

Transportation:

Local Hires - Bussing to site available

Non-Local Hires - Reliable transportation is required. Employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from camp.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience on any of the above pieces of equipment.
  • Positive attitude and willing to take direction from supervision.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and provide a 5-year driver's abstract that meets insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and proactive with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • On-site experience is an asset.
  • Strong safety culture.
  • Must have basic computer skills to complete online orientations.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain site-specific tickets
  • CSO
  • Must be able to complete a criminal record check if required

Key Responsibilities:

Dozer Operator

  • Safely operate dozers in a variety of construction, earthworks, and industrial environments.
  • Perform rough and finish grading to project specifications.
  • Build and maintain roads, pads, berms, and drainage systems.
  • Clear land and move soil, gravel, and other materials efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and report equipment deficiencies.
  • Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Work closely with supervisors and other operators to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and complete required documentation.
  • Other duties as required

Grader Operator

  • Safely operate motor graders for rough and finish grading applications.
  • Construct and maintain roads, lease sites, pads, and drainage systems.
  • Achieve accurate grades using survey information, grade stakes, and GPS systems.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify and report hazards, equipment concerns, and maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors, surveyors, and fellow crew members.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Other duties as required

Excavator Operator

  • Safely operate excavators for excavation, trenching, ditching, loading, and backfilling activities.
  • Excavate and move materials according to project requirements and specifications.
  • Load trucks and support site preparation and earthworks operations.
  • Work safely around underground utilities and existing infrastructure.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with ground personnel and other operators.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and complete required operational documentation.
  • Other duties as required.
