Pharmacy Assistant

Job Brief

Phoenix Recovery Center is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy staff. This role involves assisting the pharmacist directly in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with external clients, customers, vendors, consultants, suppliers, and visitors to the clinic as needed.
  • Assist with pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and dispensing medications.
  • Welcome healthcare providers and patients in person and over the phone, addressing inquiries, and directing requests to the pharmacist.
  • Assist with pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock levels, anticipating medication and supply needs, placing orders, verifying receipts, and removing expired drugs.
  • Expert user in various software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other medical-related applications as required.
  • Organize medications for pharmacist dispensing, including preparing labels, calculating quantities, and facilitating pharmaceutical therapies.
  • Maintain accurate records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions daily.
  • Contribute to revenue generation by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
  • Handle client paper and electronic files, prepare medical charts, scan documents, index records, and manage file-related correspondence.
  • Uphold pharmacy cleanliness and safety standards by following established procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure infection-control protocols are adhered to, prioritizing patient and employee well-being.
  • Collaborate with the team by fulfilling assigned tasks that contribute to overall objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Uphold confidentiality and exercise discretion with clients' information.
  • Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accurate results and initiative to meet deadlines.
