SUMMARY:

Vitran Express in Vancouver is now hiring Full Time Dock Workers for the Day

POSITION INFORMATION:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received
  • Accurately label freight to destination
  • Assist in segregating cargo received by account or intended location
  • Must be trained and knowledgeable in completing Full Load, and trip inspection reports Loading and unloading freight of all kinds
  • Responsible for the correct staging of freight, i.e. route dock/pre-appointment/ appointment/Dangerous Goods section/Overage Shortage & Damage section etc.
  • Counting accurately all freight and reporting any exceptions noted between the B/L and actual piece count

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • High School Diploma
  • Related experience could be substitution for school requirement

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Loading and unloading trailers/containers
  • Available for the both shifts

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Forklift

Must own safety boots (ANKLE)

As part of our pre-screening process, all selected applicants must complete a criminal background Check.
