Community Action Program for Children Outreach Worker #2026-012

Location: Vanderhoof, Fraser Lake, Fort St James

Hours of Work: 23.5 hours per week; 4 days per week, Tuesday to Friday

Vacancies: 1 Position Available

Posting Date: May 13, 2026

Closing Date: Until Filled

Start Date: As Soon as Possible

Salary: $27.54 – 31.61/hour as per CSSEA & CSSBA Collective Agreement (JJEP Wage Grid Level 11)

Job Summary

The Community Action Program for Children Worker (CAPC) will provide support, education, and programming to families with children from prenatal to six years of age. The CAPC Worker will respond to inquiries from parents, professionals and the general public regarding early years’ development and related issues. The CAPC Worker will deliver prevention-based groups that will serve to enhance family functioning and optimal health. Partnering with other community services and agencies to deliver and support quality early childhood programs. Service delivery will occur both on site and through outreach.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Early Childhood Certificate or Human/Social Services field
  • 2 years recent related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills (moderate understanding of operating systems, word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, and databases)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide principle-based support and advocacy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently

Required:

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license & satisfactory drivers abstract
  • Criminal Record Check clearance
  • This position requires union membership
