Full job description

At 270 West Consulting we have proudly supported thousands of Canadian Veterans. Our mission is to help veterans, and their families understand and access the benefits and services available to them through Veterans Affairs Canada and community resources. We are hiring an employee for our Benefit Navigator role located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

A normal day for a Benefit Navigator includes:

  • Assessing and coordinating client benefits programs, including health claims, disability claims, and other health related benefits
  • Serving as the main point of contact for clients regarding benefit inquiries and issue resolution
  • Conducting client orientation sessions to inform about available benefits and application processes
  • Collaborating with the team lead and other benefit navigators to ensure accurate and timely communication of benefit updates and changes
  • Maintaining client benefit records and ensure data integrity
  • Assisting with client enrollment process, including account set up, form preparation, and client information sessions
  • Staying up-to-date on industry policies and regulations related to client benefits, such as Veteran Affairs, RCMP, etc.

We are looking to hire a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Fluency in French considered an asset
  • Previous experience in the Canadian Armed Forces considered an asset
  • Knowledge of military terminology and careers
  • High School Diploma required; Post secondary education preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in customer service or a similar role Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and own a reliable vehicle

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
