Remote American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter – RID Certified

Alpha Language Services is looking for RID-Certified American Sign Language (ASL) ⇄ English Interpreters to join our remote interpreting team. We provide professional Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services for clients across the United States — and we believe skilled interpreters deserve competitive compensation, consistent opportunities, and professional support.

What You'll Do

  • Provide real-time ASL ⇄ English interpretation through secure video platforms.
  • Support communication in healthcare, educational, legal, business, and community settings.
  • Ensure Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients receive complete, accurate, and meaningful communication access.
  • Interpret accurately without adding, omitting, or altering the intended meaning.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and follow the RID Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, impartiality, cultural competency, and sensitivity in every interaction.
  • Handle sensitive, complex, and fast-paced conversations with confidence and accuracy.
  • Help deliver an exceptional communication experience for every participant.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current RID Certification is required — including CI, CT, CDI, or NIC.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
  • Professional interpreting experience in one or more of the following:
  • Medical
  • Educational
  • Legal
  • Community
  • Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)
  • Video Relay Service (VRS)
  • Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professionalism, discretion, reliability, and genuine cultural competency.
  • Ability to remain calm, accurate, and professional during high-pressure or emotionally sensitive interactions.

Work Schedule

  • 100% Remote / Work From Home
  • Full-Time or Part-Time opportunities
  • Availability during U.S. Eastern Time business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET)
  • Minimum commitment of 6 hours per day, 5 days per week
