ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-minded LICENSED 310T TRUCK AND COACH TECHNICIAN to join our team, focusing on the repair and maintenance of our Ready Mix fleet, which includes both older and newer models with manual and automatic transmissions, as well as other essential vehicles used by Amrize Canada Inc.. This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of our diverse fleet, supporting our commitment to quality and service as a leading concrete company. The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and maximize fleet performance.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-minded LICENSED 310T TRUCK AND COACH TECHNICIAN to join our team, focusing on the repair and maintenance of our Ready Mix fleet, which includes both older and newer models with manual and automatic transmissions, as well as other essential vehicles used by Amrize Canada Inc.. This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of our diverse fleet, supporting our commitment to quality and service as a leading concrete company. The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and maximize fleet performance.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting on a variety of heavy trucks, including Ready Mix trucks (both old and new, manual and automatic transmissions), and other Amrize Canada Inc. vehicles.
- Execute preventative maintenance services and related work to ensure the longevity and reliability of the fleet.
- Conduct thorough safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
- Respond efficiently to service calls for emergency breakdowns, both during regular hours and occasionally after hours or on Saturdays, to minimize operational disruptions.
- Maintain neat and organized records of all services performed and work completed, utilizing computer systems for work order creation and email communication.
- Exhibit good housekeeping practices in the shop, contributing to a clean, organized, and safe work environment Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent professional experience.
- Additional Education Preferred: Post-secondary education in Heavy Equipment or Truck and Coach Repair.
- Field of Study Preferred: Automotive, Heavy Equipment, or Truck and Coach Systems.
- Required Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of heavy truck experience. Experience with Ready Mix trucks and other vocational vehicles is highly preferred.
- Required Training/Certifications: Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license.
- Required Technical Skills:
- Proficient in performing inspections, diagnostic tests, troubleshooting, and general vehicle repair.
- Strong knowledge of heavy truck systems, including diesel engines, transmissions (manual and automatic), brakes, steering, and suspension.
- Experience with hydraulic systems is an asset.
- Computer knowledge, including creating work orders and utilizing email.
- Must possess own Hand Tools and Tool Box.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional service calls for emergency breakdowns may require local travel. Occasional afterhours and Saturday work may be required
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a safety mindset and be willing to comply with the standards and procedures of company policies.
- At minimum, a valid G Driver's License with a clean abstract is required, but an AZ or DZ is preferred.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be organized and willing to exhibit good housekeeping practices in our shop.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and punctuality are a must.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
