About PaintScout

PaintScout is a fast-growing SaaS company built for painting contractors who want to run smarter, more profitable businesses. We’re a builder-minded, creative, and collaborative team that values curiosity, ownership, and a bias for action. As we scale, hiring exceptional people is one of our highest priorities, and that’s where you come in.

Role Purpose

The Talent & People Partner plays a foundational role in how PaintScout attracts, hires, and supports exceptional people. This hybrid role blends full-cycle recruitment with hands-on People & Culture work, giving you the opportunity to build scalable hiring processes, strengthen employee experience, and contribute to the development of a modern People function in a growing SaaS company.

This is an ideal role for a skilled tech recruiter who wants to broaden into People Operations and eventually grow into a People Partner or HR Manager.

Key Responsibilities

In the early stages, the role will be primarily Talent Acquisition (around 70%) with 30% dedicated to People & Culture generalist work. Once key leadership hires are in place, the scope will transition toward broader People initiatives.

Talent Acquisition (70%)

  • Own full-cycle recruitment across multiple teams, including Marketing, Revenue, Engineering, Customer Success, and Operations.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define success profiles, interview plans, and hiring timelines.
  • Source, engage, and nurture top talent through proactive outreach, referrals, and creative sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct structured phone screens and guide candidates through each stage of the process.
  • Ensure a warm, transparent, and human candidate experience that reflects PaintScout’s culture.

People & Culture (30%)

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth, consistent employee experiences.
  • Contribute to People Ops initiatives such as engagement programs, culture-building activities, and internal communications.
  • Assist with HR systems, documentation, and process improvements as the People function scales.
  • Partner with leaders on employee experience touchpoints, including check-ins, feedback loops, and development conversations.
  • Support policy updates, compliance requirements, and People-related projects as needed.

Success Metrics

  • Strong partnership and trust with hiring managers.
  • Consistent delivery of qualified shortlists within agreed timelines.
  • Positive candidate feedback and high-quality candidate experience.
  • Improved sourcing effectiveness and pipeline depth for key roles.
  • Meaningful contributions to People & Culture processes, tools, and employee experience.
  • Increased clarity, consistency, and scalability in People operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recruitment experience (agency or in-house); SaaS or tech hiring is an asset.
  • Exposure to HR generalist or People Operations work, or a strong desire to grow into it.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong sourcing capabilities and extensive experience with outbound engagement.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and projects simultaneously.
  • A builder mindset, comfortable creating structure, improving processes, and working in a fast-moving environment.
  • A warm, human approach to people and communication.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience (agency or in-house); experience hiring in SaaS or tech environments is required.
  • Proven sourcing strength with confidence in outbound outreach, talent mapping, and building proactive pipelines.
  • Exposure to HR generalist or People Operations work, with the ability, and interest, to expand into broader People & Culture responsibilities.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively with candidates, hiring managers, and leadership.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple requisitions, priorities, and People projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-growth environment, with the ability to adapt quickly and create clarity in ambiguity.
  • A builder mindset, skilled at creating structure, improving processes, and contributing to scalable People practices.
  • A warm, human approach to people, communication, and candidate experience.
  • Genuine passion for delivering an exceptional candidate and employee experience at every touchpoint.

What You’ll Love About Working at PaintScout

  • A builder-minded culture where your ideas and ownership matter.
  • A collaborative team that values transparency, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
