Apothecare Pharmacy | Calgary, AB

Apothecare Pharmacy is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our growing team.

We are an independent, clinically focused pharmacy located in Calgary, with a strong emphasis on personalized care, cardiometabolic health, medication management, and service that goes beyond traditional dispensing. We are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced but supportive pharmacy environment.

Position Details

Position: Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant
Location: Apothecare Pharmacy, Calgary, AB
Hours: Part-time, with potential for additional hours as the pharmacy grows
Start Date: To be discussed

Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Assistant will support the pharmacy team with day-to-day dispensary and patient care operations, including:

  • Greeting and assisting patients in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Entering, processing, and preparing prescriptions accurately
  • Managing prescription intake, refills, and patient communication
  • Supporting inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stock organization
  • Assisting with blister packaging/compliance packaging
  • Answering phones and directing patient inquiries appropriately
  • Supporting clinical programs, appointments, and pharmacy workflow
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment
  • Working collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and other team members

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous pharmacy assistant experience preferred
  • Experience with Kroll is considered an asset
  • Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication, is required to ensure safe and accurate patient care, prescription processing, and team communication
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized
  • A professional, kind, and patient-centred approach
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to a growing independent pharmacy

You are someone who takes pride in doing things well. You enjoy helping patients, working as part of a team, and creating a positive experience for people when they come into the pharmacy. You are dependable, organized, and understand the importance of accuracy and confidentiality in pharmacy practice.
