Full job description

Hamilton Montessori School is looking for a part-time art teacher. Individuals must provide a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate children's growth in art lessons. Children will be ages 4 years (S.K) to 10 years of age (Grade 5).

Duties of Applicant:
- Classroom management skills.
- Prepared lessons for teaching art tied into some of the artists of the past and their styles of painting; we can provide art materials as required.
- Cater lessons to children on different levels, teaching foundational art theory and technique to new learners.
- Creating a fun learning environment for children.
- Managing and motivating students throughout their learning of art.

Qualifications, experience, and skills
- Previous teaching, tutoring or instruction in art.

- Knowledge of basic art history and experience with a variety of mediums, such as:

- Painting, sketching, paper crafts, etc.

- Vulnerable Sector Check

- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

Education:
- College or University

- A Degree or Diploma in the arts is an asset.

Experience:
- Teaching or instructing children and/or Elementary students in art.
- Can be a current University or College student.

Expected hours: Up to 5 hours per week

Schedule:

● One day per week, within Monday to Friday

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
