Full job description

About us

Squared Away Builds is a specialized renovation contractor in Langley, focused on custom kitchens, bathrooms and millwork. We design, build and install our own cabinetry and millwork. That is what sets us apart from commodity cabinet companies, and it's why we need someone who takes pride in the details.

The role

You'll split your time between our shop and our job sites:

- Build and assemble cabinet boxes, built-ins and custom millwork from shop drawings and cut lists

- Install cabinetry, panels, trim and fixtures: level, scribe, fit and adjust to a high standard

- Finish carpentry on renovation projects

- Keep the shop and job sites clean, safe and organized

- Work directly with the owner and coordinate with subcontractors on site

You have

- 5+ years in finish carpentry, cabinetmaking or millwork install

- The ability to read shop drawings and work to tight tolerances on your own

- A sharp eye for detail: you take the time to do it right the first time

- You're organized and tidy, and you leave the shop and job site cleaner than you found it

- Your own hand tools (we supply power tools and equipment)

- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's licence

- A track record of showing up on time and communicating early when something changes

Schedule

Monday to Friday, about 40 hours, 7:30 to 3:30.

How we hire

Phone interview, then an in-person interview, then a paid trial day. Apply with your Indeed resume and include a few photos of finished work you're proud of.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Application question(s):

  • Do you have your own hand tools and reliable transportation to our Langley shop and job sites?
  • Can you read shop drawings and build from a cut list? Please share a link to photos of finished work you're proud of, or say you'll bring them to an interview.

Experience:

  • finish carpentry or cabinetmaking: 5 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person
