Marketing Specialist, Rewards

HYBRID: Work-From-Home / 1031 Bank St. Ottawa, ON

Full-Time, Permanent

Job Summary

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist, Rewards is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that promote and grow CAANEO’s loyalty program across mass media, direct, and digital channels. This role uses data-driven insights to engage target audiences, strengthen member value, and differentiate the Rewards program in a competitive marketplace.

This position combines creativity, analytical thinking, and strong execution capability. The Marketing Specialist leverages market research, performance analytics, and customer insights to develop compelling campaigns that drive engagement, lead generation, and revenue growth. They play a key role in ensuring marketing initiatives align with broader business objectives and product strategies.

Working closely with Communications, Sales, Product, and external partners, the Marketing Specialist ensures consistent branding, strong campaign execution, and effective go-to-market delivery across all channels.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute multi-channel marketing strategies across mass media, direct marketing, and digital platforms.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, behaviours, and emerging trends.
  • Translate business objectives and product priorities into actionable marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align campaigns with product launches and organizational goals.

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Create compelling campaign messaging and visuals aligned to brand standards and target audiences.
  • Plan and execute mass media campaigns including TV, radio, and print advertising.
  • Deliver direct marketing campaigns including email, direct mail, and telemarketing initiatives.
  • Manage digital marketing execution including SEO, PPC, social media, and email marketing.
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and optimized for performance.

Data Analysis & Optimization

  • Leverage tools such as Power BI and Bloomreach to monitor campaign performance and customer engagement.
  • Use data insights to optimize targeting, improve ROI, and refine marketing strategies.
  • Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Report on KPIs and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.

Content Creation & Brand Management

  • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop engaging marketing materials using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and assets.
  • Develop clear, persuasive storytelling that communicates product value and member benefits.
  • Incorporate customer feedback and testimonials to strengthen messaging and credibility.

Lead Generation & Conversion

  • Support lead generation strategies and work closely with Sales teams to drive conversion.
  • Ensure consistent promotion of campaigns through front-line and member-facing teams.
  • Monitor and optimize funnel performance to improve acquisition and conversion rates.

Product & Industry Knowledge

  • Maintain strong understanding of CAANEO loyalty products, services, and partner offerings.
  • Ensure marketing materials accurately reflect product updates and enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and partner brand standards.
  • Use product knowledge to effectively position member value and address customer needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Product, Communications, and Customer Service teams to align marketing initiatives.
  • Support enterprise-wide initiatives through participation in committees and working groups.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Partner & Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and vendors.
  • Collaborate on co-branded and joint marketing initiatives that drive mutual value.
  • Support execution of partner-led campaigns and promotional activities.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop innovative marketing ideas to improve engagement and differentiate the Rewards program.
  • Explore and leverage emerging tools, including AI, to improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay current with marketing trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Use customer feedback to inform improvements and enhance marketing impact.

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a marketing role.
  • Experience across multiple channels including mass media, digital, direct, and event marketing.
  • Experience in loyalty programs or membership-based organizations considered an asset.

Marketing Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, consumer behaviour, and market research.
  • Experience with marketing analytics tools (Power BI, Bloomreach or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva.
  • Knowledge of SEO, digital advertising, social media marketing, and email marketing.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms.
  • Strong storytelling and content development abilities.
  • Understanding of lead generation and conversion strategies.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Experience with A/B testing and campaign optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in reporting and performance measurement.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

Compensation

  • Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
  • 5% Annual Performance Bonus
